Elina ConstantinouQuantitative Analyst at S&P Global
Elina is a senior quantitative analyst working for S&P Global Ratings, responsible for developing and maintaining quantitative models and tools that are used by credit analysts globally in credit ratings analyses and research publications. Her focus is on identifying areas for new, creative solutions and continuous improvement. Her educational background was in Mathematics as undergraduate at the university of Manchester and Financial Risk Management as postgraduate at UCL. Her previous work experience includes business analysis, model validation and consulting in investment banks like Credit Suisse and Citibank. She has also recently obtained a certificate in Quantitative Finance. Elina is passionate about salsa dancing, is also a fitness and activities enthusiast and loves travelling.
Nikoletta ZinonosSolicitor, Burges Salmon
Nikoletta graduated with a first-class law degree from the University of Nottingham, before she obtained her LPC and MSc at the University of Law where she was awarded the Best Overall Performance in her year. She is currently in the second year of her training contract at Burges Salmon LLP, a UK law firm. An avid writer and reader, she is passionate about sharing her insights into the legal industry and helping motivated college students with achieving their education or career aspirations.
Sotiris MertziosAssociate at Moody's
Sotiris has graduated with a BSc Economics from the University of Nottingham. He spent his first 4 years of professional career working at the FCA, the UK financial regulator, where he held a variety of roles as part of his graduate scheme. He is now a credit analyst at Moody’s, focusing in insurance companies in the EMEA region. Sotiris is also studying towards obtaining his CFA qualification, having successfully passed level 1. In his extra time, he is passionate about coaching and mentoring junior colleagues as well as being involved in various D&I initiatives.
Credit rating agencies (CRAs) can give a credit risk rating to individual companies, stocks, government, corporate or municipal bonds, mortgage-backed securities, credit default swaps and collateralised debt obligations. Credit risk shows how likely a borrower is to default on their obligations to repay a loan.
