The Confucius Institute at the University of Cyprus (CI at UCY) is a non-profit organization and a joint venture between the Chinese International Education Foundation, the University of Cyprus and the Beijing Institute of Education.     Andreas is currently studying Electrical Engineering at the University Of Cyprus and has experience as Technical Support Specialist in the telecommunications industry. He is passionate about entrepreneurship and has participated in various startup competitions in Cyprus and abroad. Notably, he represented Cyprus in Helsinki at the 2021 Huawei Seeds for the Future Talent Summit, Huawei’s flagship global CSR program that aims at developing the potential of local talents in the context of Information and communications technologies (ICT).

    Christoforos Hadjittofis
    Deputy Head of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Beijing

    Christoforos Hadjittofis currently serves as the Deputy Head of Embassy at the Republic of Cyprus in Beijing. With more than a decade of work experience as a diplomat, Christoforos has worked in Nicosia, Brasilia and now in Beijing, in topics of national importance such as Crisis Management, Cyprus Problem and Turkey Division. The Cypriot Embassy in Beijing aims at enhancing bilateral relations of Cyprus-China in a spectrum of fields such as political, economic, trade, cultural, tourism and more. At the same time, the Embassy, apart from China, is also accredited and provides consular services to South Korea, North Korea, Cambodia, Laos and Mongolia.

    Lanting Liu (Katrina)
    Journalist at Cyprus Mail

    Lanting Liu (Katrina) has been living in Cyprus for more than two years and holds a Master’s Degree from the European University Cyprus in Early Childhood Education. She is currently a journalist and translator in Cyprus Mail, where she writes about China and Cyprus relations and relevant events happening between the two countries. Katrina is a beginner in Modern Greek, enjoys traveling and learning about various cultures from around the world.

    Petros Djakouris
    Co-Founder & Curator at BeHive

    Petros has worked in talent development, community building and Chinese digital marketing for the past five years. His training and marketing experience includes working with organizations such as LinkedIn, Peking University, and Confucius Institute at the University of Cyprus. He is co-founder at BeHive, an organization that bridges China with the rest of the world through employability training, job fairs and resource sharing, for international talent that wants to work or start a business in China. Petros is originally from Cyprus, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Nottingham University, and speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese.

    Xinyue Zhang (Luna)
    Public Relations Manager at Huawei Technologies

    Xinyue Zhang is based in Greece, works at Huawei as a Public Relations Manager and covers Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Albania and North Macedonia. She has working experience on international organizations and companies in China, Europe and United States, immersed with a multicultural environment. She worked at the Huawei HQ (Shenzhen) mainly responsible for Corporate Social Responsibility programs and environmental protection projects before she joined Huawei South Balkans. Huawei has been in Cyprus for more than 15 years, has created hundreds of local jobs and collaborates with local universities and organizations to spearhead educational and scientific developments in Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and other emerging technologies.
